  33. technologies for Objective-C objects and OLE Automation objects
  34. over the wire.  Thus a WebObjects application can vend an Excel
  35. spreadsheet, an Access database, or any application that supports
  36. OLE Automation on the web to clients anywhere with any browser
  37. (regardless of their desktop configuration).  Note that this object
  38. brokering has been extended via NeXT's professional services
  39. organization to access objects implemented as CORBA or DCE services.

  41. Scale Your Applications.  In addition to compiled code support,
  42. WebObjects provides sophisticated scalability enhancements such as a
  43. high performance CGI and NSAPI  HTTP server adaptors.  This adaptor
  44. technology can be configured to easily perform load balancing
  45. across multiple machines running a single virtual WebObjects
  46. application (or multiple WebObjects applications).  The WebObjects
  47. adaptor can run on any operating system or HTTP server platform
  48. including popular models from SGI -- and still message the right
  49. WebObjects applications running on any combination of Windows NT,
  50. Solaris, and NEXTSTEP machines.  Support for other Web application
  51. platforms is planned.
